Metal Nanoparticles/Ionic Liquid/Cellulose: Polymeric Membrane for Hydrogenation Reactions
نویسندگان
چکیده
Rhodium and platinum nanoparticles were supported in polymeric membranes with 10, 20 and 40 μm thickness. The polymeric membranes were prepared combining cellulose acetate and the ionic liquid (IL) 1-n-butyl3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethane sulfonyl)imide (BMI.(NTf) 2 . The presence of metal nanoparticles induced an increase in the polymeric membrane surface areas. The increase of the IL content resulted in an improvement of elasticity and decrease in tenacity and toughness, whereas the stress at break was not affected. The presence of IL probably causes an increase in the separation between the cellulose molecules that result in a higher flexibility and processability of the polymeric membrane. The CA/IL/M(0) combinations exhibit an excellent synergistic effect that enhances the activity and durability of the catalyst for the hydrogenation of cyclohexene. The CA/IL/M(0) polymeric membrane displays higher catalytic activity (up to 7.353 h) for the 20 mm of CA/IL/Pt(0) and stability than the nanoparticles dispersed only in the IL.

On the involvement of NHC carbenes in catalytic reactions by iridium complexes, nanoparticle and bulk metal dispersed in imidazolium ionic liquids.
D/H exchange reactions at C2, C4 and C5 of the imidazolium cation were observed in catalytic hydrogenation reactions promoted by classical Ir(I) colloid precursors and [Ir(0)](n) nanoparticles dispersed in deuterated imidazolium ionic liquids indicating the participation of carbene species in this media. However, no D/H exchange reaction was observed in cyclohexene hydrogenation promoted by iri...

متن کاملThe microwave-assisted ionic liquid nanocomposite synthesis: platinum nanoparticles on graphene and the application on hydrogenation of styrene
The microwave-assisted nanocomposite synthesis of metal nanoparticles on graphene or graphite oxide was introduced in this research. With microwave assistance, the Pt nanoparticles on graphene/graphite oxide were successfully produced in the ionic liquid of 2-hydroxyethanaminium formate [HOCH2CH2NH3][HCO2]. On graphene/graphite oxide, the sizes of Pt nanoparticles were about 5 to 30 nm from tra...

Herein we demonstrate the use of ethylenediamine bisborane (EDAB) as a suitable hydrogen source for transfer hydrogenation reactions on C-C double bonds mediated by metal nanoparticles. Moreover, EDAB also acts as a reducing agent for carbonyl functionalities in water under metal-free conditions.
متن کاملAlkaline ionic liquids applied in supported ionic liquid catalyst for selective hydrogenation of citral to citronellal
The challenge in preparation of ionic liquids containing a strong alkaline anion is to identify a suitable cation which can tolerate the harsh conditions induced by the anion. In this study, a commercial quaternary ammonium compound (quat) benzalkonium [ADBA] (alkyldimethylbenzylammonium) was used as a cation in the synthesis of different alkaline ionic liquids. In fact, the precursor, benzalko...
